Biratnagar – The CPN-UML has asked the Koshi state government to withdraw the ordinance brought to make the leaders of the alliance happy. The Koshi Parliamentary Party of the UML held a press conference and warned that the Ordinance would be withdrawn and failed in the Parliament itself.

Rebathiraman Bhandari, chief whip of UML, has said that it is objectionable to amend the law so that even a party with only one MP in the state can be given vehicle facilities.

UML has objected to the fact that Chief Minister Kedar Karki has increased the number of officials of the Provincial Assembly through an ordinance to provide vehicle facilities to the leaders of the ruling party, and that the state government has opened the way for the additional officials to provide vehicles and other facilities.

Kathmandu: CPN Unified Samajwadi Party President Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the main opposition party CPN UML of playing a negative role in a very irresponsible manner. Speaking at the party’s second national council meeting that began on Sunday, President Nepal said that UML is determined to destroy the current coalition government.

‘The CPN-UML, which has become the main opposition after being overthrown, is playing a negative role in a very irresponsible manner. There is an audacity to break the current alliance that is being operated by the government in various ways,’ he said. He said that the parties in the opposition have been blocking the House on any issue.

Nepal, who is also a former Prime Minister, said that recently questions are being raised about the stability of the government and political stability in the country. He claimed that due to various opposing forces in the House, instability was being created in the country.

He emphasized that since the coalition government has been formed in the union and all the seven provinces, they should work with understanding among the coalition parties.

He said that the economic crisis and recession that appeared in the country after the Covid-19 is still ongoing. He said, ‘Economic crisis and recession are the same. Although there have been some improvements, the revenue raised has not been enough to cover current expenses. Price rise and inflation have increased. Although it was said to replace imports and promote exports, it has not been done accordingly.’

Chinese Deputy Minister Haiyan meets UML Chairman Oli

Kathmandu – Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Sun Haiyan, had a courtesy meeting with the Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli.

The meeting between UML Chairman Oli and Chinese Deputy Minister Haiyan was held at the UML party headquarters in Chaisal, Lalitalpur on Saturday. During a talk between two leaders Nepal-China relations and relations between UML and the Chinese Communist Party were discussed.

According to Rajan Bhattarai, head of UML’s foreign department, during the meeting, Chairman Oli asked to implement the agreement made in the past with the Chinese Communist Party when the UML was in government. Deputy Minister Sun Haiyan also expressed her commitment to implement the agreements reached at the highest political level between the two countries.

Kathmandu – An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers has been called after the death of former Speaker Subash Chandra Nemwang.

An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers is going to be held at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers at Singhadurbar. It is said that the meeting is preparing to decide on giving national honor to the late Subas Nemwang.

Nemwang died this morning of a heart attack. His body is currently kept at the TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. From there, his body will be taken to the UML party office for homage.

There is a provision that the Council of Ministers has to decide on national honors in the case of others, except those specified in the procedures related to final honors.

UML Vice President Subaschandra Nemwang passed away

Kathmandu- CPN-UML vice president and former Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang passed away.

Nembang, who was in his own residence, had a heart attack at around 1 o’clock in the night, and his family members took him to the Teaching Hospital, Maharajganj. The doctors declared that Nemwang had passed away as soon as he was taken to the hospital.

After the news of his death, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UML President KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire and other leaders reached the hospital. Now there is a heavy presence of leaders in the hospital premises.

Nemwang’s body will be kept at UML party office for paying homage. Since Neemwang’s two sons are abroad, it is said that the funeral will be held only after their arrival.

Nemwang is an elected Member of Parliament from Ilam-2.

UML’s demand to investigate the scandal of the Maoist militant camp

I will stand against Oli’s injustice & discriminatory politics: Bhim Rawal

CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal has said that he will fight within the party against the discriminatory political character and injustice of Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

He said that even though there was a single recommendation from the district, not giving him a ticket from Achham 1 in the House of Representatives was a gross insult to the UML leaders and workers of Far West and harmed the interests and unity of the party. Rawal said that there is no rule and discipline in the party and that there is no practice of consultation on any matter. He also said that Oli has been spreading unnecessary rumours against him.

Saying that UML is not a company or personal property, he said that he will fight till the end to get the party out of the current distorted situation and will end UML’s association with the right wing and reactionaries.

“No matter how many accusations Chairman Oli makes about me, I will try my best on my part to make the party win in the upcoming elections”, he said.

Ghanshyam Bhusal, the leader of CPN-UML, has said that the Congress used communists against UML.

In a four-page document addressed to Chairman Oli at the Politburo meeting that started on Thursday, Bhusal said that the Nepali Congress has used communists against the UML.

He also said that only the majority of the Communist Party can return the lost opportunities and that all Communists should be united and CPN-UML should take initiative. Agreement on electoral coordination between the ruling coalition

The committee has been given the responsibility to submit a report along with the decision on seat distribution within the end of August.

CPN-UML to protest against the Citizenship Bill

The main opposition party CPN-UML has said that it will protest against the Citizenship Bill.


Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Chautari Karnali in Birendra Nagar, Surkhet, CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel said that UML will hold a protest against the Citizenship Bill on 1st August.

General Secretary Pokharel has also criticized the government saying that the Citizenship Bill was passed by the Parliament to maintain the power and alliance and this is the government’s unworthiness.
Pokharel has also commented that it is doubtful that the Citizenship Bill passed rigt after Prachanda’s visit to India.

35 percent voting across the country by 12 pm

The Election Commission has stated that voting is going on enthusiastically in all 753 localities except for sporadic incidents.

According to the commission, about 35 percent voting has been completed across the country by 12 pm. However, polling has been disrupted in some places of Dolakha, Sarlahi, Saptari, Ramechhap, Parbat, Humla and Bajura due to general disputes.

Election Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that polling is expected to start soon in those places as well.

Silence period to be imposed from today

A silence period will be imposed for the local level election after 12 midnight today. The silence period will continue until the voting is over.

A silent period has been fixed for holding the election in a fraud-free, clean, fair and fear-free environment. It is mentioned in the code of conduct of the commission that political parties, their fraternal organizations, candidates, union organizations and others will not be allowed to organize political campaigns, gatherings / seminars during the silence period.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya informed that the authority has been delegated to all the Chief District Officers through a special circular to monitor, regulate and monitor the compliance of the instructions issued for the silence period and to take action against the violators if necessary.

According to the commission, no discussion, interaction, meeting, conference or symposium can be held during the silence period including election campaign. Campaign materials of political parties and candidates will not be allowed within 300 meters of the polling station. The commission has directed to remove such material before the start of the silence period.

During the silence period, it is not allowed to post or share messages, information or propaganda material for or against the political party or candidate through social media, online, print or any other means.

Eight thousand candidates withdrew their candidacies

About 8,000 candidates withdrew their candidacies for the local elections.
According to the data made public by the Election Commission, out of 153,000 candidates for the local elections, 8,000 have withdrawn their candidacies.

Maoist Center will not issue an election manifesto

The Maoist center has decided not to issue a manifesto or any kind of commitment letter for the local elections.

According to the appeal made public by the Maoist center for the local level election on April 5, the local level can issue its own manifesto but the center will not make any manifesto for the election.

UML chairperson and parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli said that the current political situation is serious and would take a decision without any provocation.

He made the remarks after hearing the views of UML lawmakers at a meeting of the UML parliamentary party held at Lhotse Bhawan in New Baneshwor.

During the meeting, Bhim Rawal and Ghanashyam Bhusal said that UML should not go to the polls carrying the issue of indicted Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). He also said that going to the polls with these two issues would be a serious political mistake.

Chairman Oli, in a reply, said that a decision should be taken without provocation as there is a serious political situation. He said the secretariat would decide on the matter.

At a three-party meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, the main opposition party UML has put forward its conditions for the smooth functioning of the parliament.

Chairman of the main opposition party UML Oli has demanded the resignation of Speaker Agni Sapkota for the smooth functioning of the parliament. Accusing him of aiding and abetting the party split, Oli reiterated that he would not open the parliament unless the speaker admits his mistake and resigns. Similarly, Oli has said that action should be taken against the 14 non-parliamentarians who have been taken action by the UML. Otherwise, the party will not allow the parliament to function until 14 non-parliamentarians, including Nepal, are present in the parliament. However, the UML has been saying that it will help in approving the MCC if it breaks the alliance and takes action against the speaker.

Similarly, the UML has demanded that in the next cabinet meeting, the date for the election must be announced and the election needs to be held within May 19. Stating that there is a dispute within the alliance, Oli said that the ruling party should first clarify its opinion on the US project MCC and then only the CPN-UML will put forward its decision.

UML has also demanded action against Minister Renu Yadav for her provocative speech at gaur and Health Minister Birodh Khatiwada, who was accused for the irregularities of 2.4 million corona vaccine.

 Stating that the financial crisis has started in the country as the government has not been able to spend even 15 percent of the development budget in six months of the current fiscal year, Chairman Oli said that the government should take serious steps regarding the issue on country’s financial matter.
