DNA of Niharika Rajput’s son matched with accused Shivaraj Shrestha

DNA of the son of Niharika Rajput, who attempted self-immolation in front of the President’s Office, Shital Niwas on 27 Shrawan 2079 BS, has been matched with accused Shivraj Shrestha.

Janakpur High Court said that the DNA of Rajput’s son matched with Shrestha’s DNA in the test conducted at the National Forensic Science Laboratory in Khumaltar in accordance with the order given by the High Court, Janakpur to test the DNA of Niharika’s son and Shrestha.

Rajput, who was repeatedly on hunger strike demanding DNA tests, broke the strike after agreeing on three points demand in the presence of the then Law Minister Govind Bandika on Bhadra 5th 2079 Bs. Earlier, Shrestha had been claiming that the child was not his even though he had a relationship with Niharika.

Rajput, who came to a press conference today in front of the Prime Minister’s residence saying that Shrestha should be arrested after the DNA test report, was arrested and released by the police . The police said that she was arrested and released as she was going to hold a press conference in a security sensitive area.

Sandeep Lamichhane being sent to Central Jail

Sandeep Lamichhane, accused of raping a minor, has been ordered by the Kathmandu District Court to be sent to prison.

Judge Madhav Prasad Ghimire on Friday ordered the accused Lamichhane to be jailed pending trial. Lamichhane will be sent to Central Jail, Sundhara. On Monday, the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Kathmandu filed a case against Lamichhane in the Kathmandu court demanding imprisonment for 10 to 12 years and reasonable compensation to the victim from the accused.

Lamichhane was arrested from Tribhuvan Airport on Ashwin 20 2079 BS., after a complaint was lodged against Lamichhane on the charge of rape in the Gaushala police station on Bhadra 21 2079 BS. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) also issued a diffusion notice against Lamichhane.

President Bhandari in Mustang

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has reached Mustang today by helicopter of the Nepalese army.

President Bhandari will visit Muktinath and unveil the statue of Lord Buddha and lay the foundation stone of the Lord Bishnu statue.

The security arrangements of the area have been tightened for the security of the President who reached Mustang to unveil the 35 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha in Ranipauwa.

India provided 80 vehicles to the Election Commission

The Government of India has provided 80 vehicles to the Election Commission as a gift for the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections to be held on November 20.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava has handed over a vehicle to the Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya. Commissioner Thapaliya has said that the support provided by the Indian government will help the Election Commission during this election process.

At the request of Nepal, India has been providing vehicles for the use of the Commission in previous years as well, and India has so far provided 214 vehicles to the Election Commission.

An additional 22 MW of electricity will be exported to India

The Nepal Electricity Authority has received permission to export 22 MW of electricity to India.

The Nepal Electricity Authority has said that 22 megawatts of electricity produced by Chilime Hydropower Company Limited will be exported to India. According to the authority, 386 megawatts of electricity will be exported to India every day, including Chilime. The Nepal Electricity Authority had already offered to sell an additional 100.9 megawatts of monsoon electricity consumed domestically in the day-ahead market of the Indian Energy Exchange Limited through competition.

The Authority has started selling the excess electricity consumed within the country through competition in the day-ahead market of the Indian Energy Exchange Limited from last 19thJestha 2079 BS. and has also advanced the electricity export process of the hydropower projects built by the private sector.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been shot

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been shot and wounded in the leg, in an attack on his protest march in Wazirabad.

Officials say that one of Khan’s supporters was killed in the shooting in Wazirabad. Several officials of Khan’s PTI party were also injured.

The gunman said he wanted to kill Khan and had acted alone. Pakistani police have released a video of a gunman who was arrested at the scene of Kahn’s shooting.

Fawad Chaudhry, a spokesperson for Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, told that “if the shooter had not been stopped by people there, the entire PTI leadership would have been wiped out.”
