Top Bahadur Rayamajhi arrested

Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who was on the run after an arrest warrant was issued on the charge of fraud by creating fake Bhutanese refugees, has been finally arrested .

After the arrest warrant was issued, Top Bahadur absconded, saying that he would come himself to assist the police in the investigation. UML Secretary and former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi was arrested from BudhanilKanth in Kathmandu on the 11th day after the arrest warrant was issued, police said.

It has been mentioned in the police statement that Rayamajhi, who has been hiding in India till now and returned to Kathmandu from New Delhi via Pokhara, was arrested from Narayan Paudel’s house in Budhanilkanth. The police claim that Rayamajhi came to Nepal only on Friday after receiving information that a police team had come to India to arrest him.

He was in Arghakhanchi when District Court Kathmandu issued an arrest warrant against him , but he absconded soon after learning that the arrest warrant had been issued. Rayamajhi’s son Sandeep was arrested by the police on 20 Baisakh 2080 BS.

Court permission to detain ex-home minister Khad for 4 more days

May 14, Kathmandu – The district court in Kathmandu has allowed the police to detain former home minister Balkrishna Khad for four more days, who was arrested in the fake Bhutanese refugee case.

District Police Kathmandu, submitted an appeal to the District Court requesting permission to detain 12 other people including Khad for more time, saying that the investigation has not been completed.
The Kathmandu District Court allowed the police to keep them in custody for 4 more days and investigate.

Former Home Minister Khan, the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s advisor Indrajit Rai, Nepal Government Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, Sandeep Rayamajhi, son of UML leader and former minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Tank Gurung, Sagar Thulung Rai are under investigation in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal’s son Pratik Thapa has absconded after the arrest warrant was issued in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.
