10,000 migrant workers deported by Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has deported 10,000 migrant workers who violated residency, labor and border laws. The number of Nepalese workers to be deported has not been revealed yet. According to the Saudi officials most of them are Yemeni and Ethiopian citizens.

Saudi Arabia has intensified the work of arresting and deporting illegal (undocumented) immigrants. 19,000 people have been arrested in the last one week alone. In which 11 thousand 427 people have violated the housing law. 4,697 people have violated the Border Security Law and 3,197 people have violated the Labor Law.

According to the information issued by the Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia, 55 thousand 756 people have been arrested till January. In order to deport 43,000 people, a letter has been sent to the embassies of the relevant countries to issue travel documents.

According to the Nepal Embassy in Riyadh Nepalese have been facing legal problems as the Saudi employers do not renew the visas of Nepali workers on time and employ them without a visa.
