Planes will not be allowed to fly until the weather in flying route is clear

In view of flight safety, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided not to allow planes to fly until the weather is clear at the departing airport and the airport to be reached and the flying route.

The decision was taken after 22 people were killed in a Tara Air plane crash. Preliminary investigation have also shown that adverse weather conditions was the main reason for the Tara Air plane crash.

Earlier, the planes were allowed to fly after the weather at the departing airport and the destination airport is ensured, but now the authority instructs that the flight will only be allowed after the weather is clear on the flight route too.
