Mugling-Pokhara road section will be closed for 5 hours daily from today


The Yampaphant and Ghansikuwa sections of Tanahu will be closed for five hours daily from today under the Mugling-Pokhara road expansion work.

The road will be closed for five hours daily from today as excavation work has to be done in the section under the Mugling-Pokhara road expansion plan.
Vehicles have been banned from operating at Yampaphant in Bandipur Gaonpalika-5 and Ghansikuwa section of Byas Municipality-12 from 11 pm to 4 am till further notice.

Roads will be closed at night because of the inconvenience of regular traffic. Road widening is underway on the eastern side of the project. The contract for the eastern section has been awarded to China Communication Construction. Trees along the highway have been cut down for road expansion. So far, 3,014 trees have been cut down in the eastern part.

Work has also started from the western section under the Mugling-Pokhara road expansion work. The contract for the west (Jamune-Pokhara) section has been awarded to Yanhui Kaiyuan Highway and Bridge Construction Company. The four-lane road is being constructed with the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as the traffic congestion is increasing on the road which was demarcated in 2026 BS. Eighty kilometers of road has been divided into two sections and contracted.

31 new motorable bridges will be constructed along the four-lane road at a distance of 80 km from Aabukhaireni to Pokhara.
