Diesel and kerosene prices reduced by Rs.10

May 16, Kathmandu – Nepal Oil Corporation has reduced the price of diesel and kerosene by Rs. 10 per liter.

After the price of petroleum products reduced by IOC on Tuesday, the meeting of the board of directors of the Nepal Oil corporation decided to reduce the price for consumers. According to the new price list sent by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the price of diesel has decreased by 8 rupees per liter and the price of petrol by 9 rupees. Earlier, diesel and kerosene, which were sold at 165 rupees per liter, have remained at 155 rupees.

The corporation has kept the prices of petrol, jet fuel and cooking gas unchanged.

Government increase the transports fare as the fuel price goes high

The government has increased the fare of long distance public transport within the state by 15 percent. The Department of Transport Management has increased the fare for passenger vehicles by 10 percent as per the ministerial decision of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

According to the Department of Transport Management, the fare has been increased by 13 percent in the hills and 15 percent in the Terai region. It has been decided to increase the fare by 10 to 15 percent depending on the geography of hilly and terai areas including passenger and freight carriers.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu kumari Yadav has also decided to adjust the vehicle fare only after the changes in the fuel price occurs by at least 5 percent.

Now, the fare adjustment will be done by reviewing the price increase of other parties including vehicle parts in Chait every year. As per the arrangement of adjusting the scientific fare of vehicles, the fare had to be adjusted after the price of the fuel was changed by Rs. 5 till now. However, since the provision is not effective, the department has made an arrangement to adjust the fare only after the changes in fuel price occurs by 5 percent.
