Floods and landslides in different places of Dolakha displaced around 70 families

More than 15 houses have been damaged due to floods and landslides in Tamakosi rural municipality-4 Malukhola Bazar of Dolakha.

The affected people have been rescued from the houses damaged by floods and landslides with the help of police and local residents. Due to floods and landslides, transport services have been blocked in the Malukhola road section and electricity supply has also been stopped in the area.

Similarly, more than 30 families have been displaced in Shailung Rural Municipality-8 due to the landslides that came with the incessant rains. More than 25 households of Bigu Rural Municipality-4 Singti Bazar have been affected by the landslide, while Bhimeshwar Municipality-2 Dakthali has also been affected by the landslide.

Indefinite rains affect people’s lives across the country: Hundreds of families displaced

The incessant rains since Monday night have affected people’s lives across the country and displaced hundreds of families.

After incessant rains, floods in various rivers in the eastern part of the country have inundated more than 2,000 houses and displaced hundreds of families.More than a thousand houses have been inundated in Jhapa.In Itahari municipality alone, 200 houses have been inundated due to continuous rains. 175 families have been displaced in Biratnagar and Katahari districts due to incessant rains and floods. Due to lack of proper drainage in various cities of the country including the capital Kathmandu, the main areas of the city have been inundated. Floods and landslides along with incessant rains have blocked the country’s main highways and roads, while regular air services have also been affected by bad weather.

Though those displaced by the floods have been shifted to safer places, police have urged the riverside settlements to be on high alert as the river level has risen due to incessant rains.
