Officials of the Federal Parliament demanding to increase the budget of the Parliament

KATHMANDU – With the conclusion that the budget of the federal parliament is insufficient, the officials of the federal parliament will demand to increase the budget of the parliament.

Speaker’s press adviser Shekhar Adhikari has said that preparations are being made to meet the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat demanding to increase the budget of the Parliament.

According to Dashrath Dhamala, the Information Officer of the Parliament Secretariat, the government has only given Rs 1.22 Billion for the budget request of Rs 1.82 billion in the last financial year, and the parliament secretariat has estimated that one billion 87 million budget will be required for the next financial year.

In the meeting held at the Speaker’s office in Singhdurbar on Tuesday, it was agreed to jointly request the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister to increase the budget of the Parliament.

Government’s recommendation to the President to convene a session of both houses on 5 February

Kathmandu: The government has decided to send a recommendation to President Ramchandra Paudel to convene a session of both houses of the Federal Parliament on 5th of February

Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma informed that a decision has been taken to recommend to the President to convene a session of both Houses on February 5 at 4:00 PM.

Earlier, the session of the Federal Parliament ended on November 2.
