UML won in Bajura’s Budhiganga municipality

Ram Bahadur Baniya of the CPN-UML defeated Rang Bahadur Khati of Nepali Congress with 4777 votes for the post of mayor. His rival Khati received 3774 votes in the election.

Similarly, UML’s Mayakumari Khadka defeated Nepali Congress’ Rita Shahi for the post of deputy chief of the municipality with 4727 votes. Shahi got 3755 votes.

UML has won in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 of the municipality along with the panel while Nepali congress has won in wards 7 and 8.

The re-election was held in the municipality on July 7 after the election was rigged on May 13. There were 13,659 voters in Budhiganga and 9,128 votes were casted during the re-elction.

Vote count in Budhi Ganga Municipality started

Bajura: The counting of votes in the election of Budhiganga Municipality Ward No. 1 and 10 has started according to the Office of the election Officer.

The election, which was suspended due to rigging in the May 13 was held again yesterday. In yesterday’s election, 66.83 percent of the votes had been cast. The Office of the election Officer has hold an all-party meeting this morning and agreed to count the votes by 2-2 wards at once. Police said that security has been tightened in Budhiganga Municipality during the counting period.

Ram Bahadur Baniya of UML and Rang Bahadur Khati of Nepali Congress are contesting for the post of mayor of Budhiganga Municipality,while Maya Khadka from UML and Rita Shahi of Nepali Congress from the coalition are contesting for deputy.
