SriLanka’s presidential residence occupied by angry protestors

Protestors in Srilanka stormed a rally on Saturday smashing the police barricades and took controlled over the presidential residence.

President Rajapaksa flee after the prtoestors took controlled over the building.His whereabouts remain unknown, although police say he was escorted to a safe place.

People of Srilanka have been staging anti-government protests in Srilanka, saying the political leaders is not doing well for the country amid economic crisis. Protesters had earlier surrounded the residences of leaders of various political parties and set fire to their homes.

Pictures and videos of black-clad protesters carrying Srilankan flags entering President Rajapaksa’s residence in the capital Colombo have gone viral on social media.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has called an emergency meeting of party leaders amid crisis.
