Resolution registered in National Assembly demanding removal of time limit in rape case

A resolution has been filed in the National Assembly demanding complete removal of the time limit for filing a complaint for punishment for child sexual abuse. Nepali Congress MP Kamala Pant filed the resolution in the Parliament Secretariat on Friday with the support of all parties and independent MPs.

The proposal also calls for revision and reconsideration of the provision of time limit for filing a complaint in rape cases against other than children.

The resolution proposes to review the law as the incidence of sexual violence against children is on the rise in the society, due to fear, greed or various physical and mental conditions.
