Prohibition of meat and alcohol around the Pashupatinath temple premises

KATHMANDU – District Administration Office Kathmandu has banned meat and alcohol around the Pashupatinath Temple premises.

In order to maintain sanctity within the Pashupati area, District Administration Office Kathmandu has declared a designated perimeter and prohibited meat, alcohol and other intoxicants in those places.

The district administration office Kathmandu has established four designated perimeters from Gaushala Mitrapark road in the east, from the eastern border of Pashupati area in the west, from Gaushala Tilganga ring road in the north and Mitrapark in the north and in the south, from Umakunda Gaurighat to Bagmati to the south.

Producing, consuming,selling, transporting and storing meat, alcohol and narcotic substances in that area has been forbidden.
