The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has changed the policy of 2071 BS to lease the government land.

Earlier, the legal provision of renting government land for only 30 years has been reversed and provision has been made to lease it for 40 years at a time.

Under the new policy, government land can be leased for 5 years in short term, 15 years in medium term and 40 years in long term. Although the government has extended the time limit for leasing, the minimum price for leasing has remained the same. There is no increase in the lease amount even in the new strategy issued after 8 years.
