Mechi-Mahakali ‘Justice March’ of interest rate victims

Jhapa – The Struggle Committee of interest rate Victims is going to start “Mechi Mahakali Justice March” from today to put pressure on the government.

The Kisan Labor Struggle Committee Against high interest rate and Fraud is going to start a peaceful walk “Justice March” together from Mechi Bridge at Kakadvitta in East Jhapa and Mahakali in the West. The Committee said that the Justice March is a fight against the state power and money lender , saying that the law regarding high interest rate made by the government was not for the victim side but in favor of the money lender. It is said that the justice march, which will start simultaneously from Mechi and Mahakali in the west at 7 am on Tuesday, will reach Narayangadh in Chitwan and then depart for the capital Kathmandu.

The Committee has said that it started the justice march with 6 point demands where they have mentioned that, all fake documents related to high interest rate(Tamsuk, Drishti Bandhak ) should be declared illegal and compensation should be arranged for the victims by canceling the transfer of property rights of the victims at any level, registration of cases filed against the victims by the money lenders in different levels of courts should be brought to the Commission for review and the victims who are being punished based on fake documents (check bounces) should be released, the fines should be waived and since the government data of the applications related to high interest rate is incomplete, the registration of new applications should be opened immediately and the victims should be recorded.
