India to ban sugar exports

India has decided to ban the export of sugar and all its raw materials from its country with effect from 1st June.

India has decided to ban exports, citing the Russia-Ukraine war. This could have a direct impact on the Nepalese economy, which is dependent on Indian production. India has said it will suspend exports for the next four months.
