Human Rights Commission’s request to address the demand of Aarti Shah’s family, who is on hunger strike in Maitighar

KATHMANDU – The National Human Rights Commission has requested the government to address the demands of Shah’s relatives, who have been on hunger strike for nearly two months with the demand that the culprits should be prosecuted in the death of Aarti Shah of Dhanusha.

Being sensitive to the risk to their health due to the hunger strike, the commission has issued a statement and urged the government to protect the human rights of Shah’s family by addressing their demands.

The commission also informed that according to the victim’s family,the demands of the victim’s family have been neglected by the government to punish the culprits in the case of Aarti Shah’s death.
