Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe shot dead

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has died after being shot . Abe died at the hospital while undergoing treatment.

Former Prime Minister Abe was shot twice while addressing a public event in the western Japanese city of Nara. Former Prime Minister Abe, who was admitted to Nara Medical University, died at the hospital while undergoing treatment.
The assailant named Tetsuya Yamagami has been arrested by the police and kept at the Nishi Police Station.
Abe served as Japan’s prime minister from 2012 to 2020. Abe, an influential leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, resigned as prime minister in 2020.
