Devotees taking photographs at Pashupatinath Temple will be fined

Devotees visiting Pashupatinath temple on the occasion of HARITALIKA TEEJ will be fined if they take pictures of the original temple and its premises. Taking pictures inside the main temple of Pashupatinath is prohibited.

Pashupati Area Development Fund, Culture Preservation Division, informed that they made this preparation after the trend of taking pictures of forbidden places and posting them on social media and creating Tiktok increased. Employees of the fund will be monitoring the main temple area to stop the devotees from taking photographs.

Devotees will be fined Rs 2,100 for taking pictures of the sanctum sanctorum, Rs 1,100 for taking pictures of the main temple and Rs 500 for taking pictures of the main temple premises.

Male pilgrims will be banned from Pashupatinath Temple after 6 am on the day of TEEJ, on the 14th Bhadra 2079 BS.

Four main entrance to enter the premises
The fund is going to arrange a new line system to make it easier for the pilgrims . There will be four main entrance to enter the premises.

1: Devotees can enter from the Tilganga tourist ticket counter area and enter the Pashupatinath temple through the eastern door of Ram Mandir-Aryaghat area. Arrangements have been made to keep the shoes and slippers of the devotees entering through this route in the central area after crossing the two bridges over the Bagmati river going to Aryaghat. Jayavageshwari Toll Improvement Committee has got the responsibility of volunteering to keep shoes and slippers safe in this area.

2: Second entrance will be from Mitrapark area. The shoes and slippers of the devotees entering from here can be kept in the area in front of Shankaracharya MATH. Pashupati Creative Youth Club has taken the responsibility of helping the devotees to keep their shoes and slippers safe.

3: Third entrance will be from Gaushala-Pingalsthan-Panchdeval area. The shoes and slippers of the devotees who enter from this entrance will be kept in front of the Bajraghar. Amar Navkanteshwar Youth Club has taken the responsibility of managing the shoes and slippers of this place.

4: The fourth entrance will be from Guhyeshwari-Umakund-Kailash south section. The shoes of the devotees entering through this route will be placed in the open area in front of Guru Mandir. Navarath Scout Group has taken the responsibility of keeping the shoes and slippers safe in this area.
