Absconded former DIG Ranjan Koirala been arrested

Absconded former DIG of the Armed Police Force Ranjan Koirala has been arrested after the Supreme Court overturned its verdict.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, he was arrested while hiding in a house in Baneshwor. Koirala was sentenced for life imprisonment for the charge of killing his own wife.Later he was released after the former Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra and Justice Tej Bahadur KC reduced his life sentence to eight and a half years.

Koirala was released from Delhi Bazaar prison on July 29, 2020 .Koirala was lost of contact after the Supreme Court overturned his sentence.
