10 points demand of Niharika

Niharika, who attempted self-immolation in front of the President’s office, is currently in the Nepal Police Hospital. Niharika has continued her hunger strike even in the hospital.
Niharika Rajput presented 10 demands to Law Minister Bandi and Attorney General Khati, who came to meet Niharika at the hospital on Wednesday.

Niharika’s 10 point demand:

1) There must be an order for a DNA test in the hearing on the 24th of August. If the hearing is not approved or there is no order, I will start the fast to death again in front of the Supreme Court from 10 am on the 25th.

2) Blood samples of the opponent and my son should be taken in front of me while taking samples for the DNA test. During this test, it should be done at the police lab and the National Forensic Science Laboratory in Khumaltar, and my people, including me, should be present during that work.

3) DNA test report should come as soon as possible.

4) If the police who initially investigated my case are investigated and found guilty, immediate action should be taken against them.

5) There should be an arrangement to send two senior government lawyers from the Attorney General’s office to the High Court of Janakpur for the hearing on August 24 and the final judgment debate, and those lawyers should be ok by me.

6) My case should be heard on ‘First Track’.

7) The judge who decided my case in Janakpur district should be investigated and punished.

8) The rights of children born to all victimized mothers like me, including myself, to live with dignity should be ensured in the law.

9) Both the Law Minister and the Attorney General should sign this agreement and proceed with the legal process.

10) If all the above-mentioned demands are not met, I will again start a hunger strike before the Supreme Court and I will not be removed from there by the police or the government.

Earlier, Home Minister Balkrishna Khand promised to address her 5-point demands. But after the promises made by the government were not implemented. She continued her hunger strike in various places including Maitighar, Supreme Court and Singha Darbar. Meanwhile, the police arrested her several times from the hunger strike site. Saying that the state could not give justice no matter what was done, in the end she attempted self-immolation by sprinkling petrol on her body in front of the President’s residence.
