Pokhara- Speaking at the inauguration of the Gandaki Province Convention of the Unified Socialist Party held in Pokhara, Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the government of bringing the ordinance to loot the country, benefit middlemen and encourage the corruption.
If the ordinance was brought for the people, why was it brought overnight and for what purpose, he questioned, and accused the government of trying to loot the country by trying to amend 30 laws through 6 ordinances brought by deceiving the parliament.
He urged the leaders and workers present to face the challenges without getting discouraged and move forward, clarifying that there will be no unity with the UML or the Maoist parties as rumored in the market. However, he said that cooperation with parties with similar views is possible.
The convention was attended by 400 representatives from 11 districts of the province and 550 people including organizers, informed the party’s Gandaki Province Chairman Srinath Baral. The convention will elect a 143-member provincial committee, including a chairperson, two vice-chairpersons, a secretary, and three joint secretaries, representing different geographical and sectoral backgrounds. Baral informed that the committee’s tenure will be four years.
