Kathmandu – The third plenary national meeting of the Nepal Teachers Federation held on Magh 16 and 17 has announced the protest.
As part of the protest program, the federation has said that on Magh 20, all teachers and employees will use rectangular red stickers to write ‘School Education Act should be issued from the winter session of 2081’ on their Facebook walls, they will submit attention and information letters to all municipalities at 1 pm on Magh 25, they will form a protest mobilization committee at the local level on Magh 25 and will hold an interaction program between students, parents and school management committees in every school on Magh 29 and inform them about the demands of teachers and employees and the need for the protest, and on Magh 30, they will gather at the local municipality office and hold a protest rally with black armbands with the slogan ‘School Education Act should be issued from this winter session of parliament so that our demands are addressed’.
Similarly, the Federation has stated that under the district level program, a movement mobilization committee will be formed in each district on Magh 26 and a letter of attention and information will be submitted to the Education Development and Coordination Units of all 77 districts of the country on Falgun 2 and on Falgun 11, the district movement mobilization committee will submit a letter of attention to the federal parliamentarians elected from all constituencies of the district, including all the past agreements between the government and the Federation.
Similarly, under the provincial level, a provincial level movement mobilization committee will be formed on Falgun 7 and a letter of attention and information will be submitted to the Chief Ministers/Ministers of Social Development of all 7 provinces of the country on Falgun 9 and a meeting with various stakeholders will be held under the national level program.
The Federation has also stated that it will meet the Chief Whips of the Parliamentary Parties of all political parties, heads of political parties, Speakers, Chairs of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committees, and Ministers of Education to provide written information about the movement and its objectives and submit a letter of attention and information to the Prime Minister.
The federation has said that if its demands are not addressed, it will make the second phase of the program public on Falgun 19 and that the second phase of the movement will include a demonstration of organizational power, non-cooperation, disobedience (boycott), and obstruction programs in the capital.
