National Democracy Day Main Celebration Committee Formed

Kathmandu – The National Democracy Day, 2081 Main Celebration Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. As per the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been decided to celebrate the day with grandeur by passing the proposal of the Main Celebration Committee, various sub-committees and various programs after discussion.

The Main Celebration Committee formed under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister will include Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and Ministers of State, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal, Chief of Army Staff, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Secretaries to the Government of Nepal and Special Category Gazetted Officers, Chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department, and Mayors of Municipalities in Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, a sub-committee has been formed with the participation of concerned bodies and parties for publicity, stage decoration, ground parade and exercise management, cultural tableau management, and cultural diversity display management. Similarly, it has been decided to form a provincial-level celebration committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister in all seven provinces and celebrate the day by organizing various programs.

This day is celebrated every Falgun 7 in memory of the historic day of the establishment of democracy on Falgun 7, 2007. This year, democracy day will be celebrated for three days on Falgun 6, 7 and 8 at Nepalese embassies, diplomatic missions and consulates in Nepal and abroad, and the main program will be organized at the Nepal Army Forum, Tundikhel on Falgun 7.
