Kathmandu- Police have arrested District Coordination Committee Myagdi chief Rajkumar Thapa, who is accused of embezzling Rs 10.5 million from Kumari Cooperative Society in Beni, Myagdi.
An investigation report conducted by the Office of the Cooperative Registrar, Pokhara a year ago stated that Rs 10.5 million was embezzled from Kumari Cooperative Society on Thapa’s plan and that Thapa and his team misused the money by using it to purchase private schools and houses and land.
On 28th Magh 2079, the chairman of the cooperative, Yama Bahadur Rokka, had submitted a written application to the Office of the Cooperative Registrar, demanding an investigation into the matter of Kumari Multi-Purpose Cooperative, but Thapa had not been arrested yet. He was elected as the District coordiantion committee chief from UML.
